MARCHINGTON PARISH COUNCIL IS LOOKING TO CO-OPT TWO PARISH COUNCILLORS
Following the recent non-contested Parish Council election there are two vacancies for Parish Councillors and the Parish Council would like to co-opt to fill these vacancies. There is one vacancy in Marchington Village ward and one vacancy in Marchington Woodlands ward.

There are nine seats on Marchington Parish Council split into seven for Marchington and two for Marchington Woodlands.
The Councils regular monthly meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm. In February, June and October the meetings are held at Marchington Woodlands Village Hall with all others being held in the John Ellwood Lounge of Marchington Village Hall.
Councillors are elected every four years and represent the needs & views of the community by:
A/ Influencing and shaping the long term development policy for the parish, and as part of the planning process, comment on planning applications in the parish.
B/ Improving the quality of life and the environment in their local area.
C/ Working to identify issues which are important to the lives of the residents you represent.
D/ Working to bring about improvements through local projects, lobbying other service providers and working in partnership with other parishes and agencies.
